I provide practical, family-centred support in the environments where everyday life actually happens. Sessions are usually held in the family home or within the community, such as at a café, park or other familiar setting. We begin by talking about the challenges the family would like support with and exploring what is happening from everyone’s perspective. Sessions may involve parents on their own, parents and children together, individual time with children, or sibling-focused sessions, depending on what is most helpful. Sibling work can provide opportunities to build skills in navigating conflict, communication, problem-solving, emotional regulation and other areas that support positive relationships. By working with different family members individually and together, we can build a bigger picture of what everyone is experiencing and develop practical strategies that support individuals while also strengthening the family as a whole.
